FOLLOW THE SWIRL
Screenplay By Julia Carriero
EXT. DESERTED ISLAND — DAY
We see two famished and distressed men with torn and rugged clothing and dirt smeared on their faces. Their hair is messy, their beards are full and their boat is shipwrecked on the shore beside them illustrating how they got there in the first place. They sit/lay defeated in the sand when suddenly two individually wrapped honey buns come floating toward them. They both grab hold of their treat in pure shock and amazement. One man, obviously starving, tears open the sweet treat like a barbarian and smothers it in his face. The other, looks at him in near disgust and asks
MAN ONE:
What are you doing?
MAN TWO:
Confused and somewhat dumbfounded at his question with his cheeks full and a look on his face that reads
“What do you mean what am I doing?”
MAN ONE:
You’re supposed to follow the swirl.
Man One demonstrates, enjoying his treat with poise and class tearing off pieces of Honey Bun following its swirl design.
MAN TWO:
Do you think I'm worried about etiquette right now, _____?!
Suddenly, a Honey Bun themed pirate ship with a Honey Bun flag approaches the shore and allows Man One on board. Man Two then makes his way aboard but is denied entry due to his nonsensical way of eating his Honey Bun.
Man Two is in complete shock of what is happening before his eyes. He tries to fight his way onto the ship but Honey Bun pirates push and blockade his attempts to onboard the ship.
Finally, he is pushed to the ground and the ship takes off.
MAN TWO:
Weeps on his knees from distress and exhaustion
MAN ONE:
Shouting in the distance with his hand cupped around his mouth
You should have followed the swirl!
